Watford Ladies Under-17 Wasps beat Bury Rangers Whites 4-0 to secure their first victory of the season after a number of players returned from injury.

Carley Gilbey opened the scoring after just two minutes and further goals in the second half from Megan Walsh, Kelly Asojo and Samantha Green sealed the victory.

The Under-15 Hornets continued their fine start to the season as they progressed into the second round of the County Cup with a 5-1 win over Bedwell Rangers.

But the victory was only secured after four goals in the final 15 minutes saw off a strong defensive display from Rangers.

Sinead Carroll, an Olivia Syson brace, Holly Holt and Danielle Maloney were the players on target.

Despite battling hard, the Under-15 Harts failed to progress to the second round of the County Cup and were defeated 2-0 by Garston Ladies.

The tables were turned on Garston in the Under-13s age group as Watford Harts put them out of the cup with an emphatic 8-1 victory.

Amy Doherty netted a hat-trick whilst Connie Woodward, Amy Ryan, Jemimah Rose, Roma Agnihotri, Lola Forsyth and Annie Black all added to the Watford tally.

Garston took credit though, as they never gave up and scored a consolation towards the end of the match. The Under-12s, still blighted by injury, were well beaten by Bishops Stortford, losing 9-2.

The girls didn’t take advantage of the offside rule, which is new to the Under-12s this season, and the opposition were able to move a number of players deep into the Watford half throughout the match.

Charlotte Clark opened the scoring for Watford, despite playing with a badly-broken finger, and their captain Grace Barker-Roberts also netted for Watford in the second half.
