Sandy Lodge Golf Club are celebrating winning two Hertfordshire’s premier titles.
Jordan Lawrence and Stuart Patrick won the 2014 Interclub Foursomes, played at East Herts GC, with a 36 hole score of 144 in the foursomes medal format. Their two over par total enabled them to claim a three-shot victory.
The second triumph came when the Northwood-based club defeated Harpenden Common 6½-5½ in the deciding match of the 2014 Herts Division 1 Scratch League.
The match was a winner take all scenario with both teams able to take the title with a win, and Harpenden had the advantage of being able to draw the match.
Sandy Lodge had a decisive 2½-1½ lead after the morning foursomes, with the afternoon singles halved 4-4, meaning Sandy Lodge won the league and Harpenden Common finished runners-up.
Sandy Lodge have been in the first division for 16 consecutive years, winning three times previously.
