Sun Sports are just three points behind Premier Division table-toppers Berkhamsted after enjoying a 5-1 win over Leverstock Green on Saturday.

Simeon Fearon opened the scoring after 38 minutes when he turned and thrashed the ball into the top corner.

Fearon then turned provider for the second, laying the ball off for James Armstrong to cut inside and score against the club for whom he netted 134 times in five seasons previously.

Levy player-manager Dene Gardner got one back for the visitors, but from there it was one-way traffic as Sun took charge.

Armstrong dummied cleverly to release Ashley Lewis for the third, before Fearon grabbed his second and Sun’s fourth following a good team move which involved Lewis, Richard Pearce and Chris McCarthy.

Pearce fired home the fifth; starting and finishing the move which saw Sun score their 36th goal in their last six games.

Sun are at home to Hadley tomorrow, whilst Leverstock Green play host to London Colney.

Kings Langley were 3-0 up after 11 minutes as they thrashed Holmer Green 6-0 on Saturday to move into ninth place on goal difference.

Paul Hughes and Ritchie Hanlon’s side also boast the added advantage of as many as four games in hand on the teams above them in the top-flight table and a positive goal difference of ten.

After an early miss for Holmer Green, Kings scored three times in quick succession; the first coming when Alex Campana crossed for Mitchell Weiss to net.

Two minutes later Daryl Atkins collected a pass and beat his marker before firing home the second.

Campana then rattled home the third 60 seconds after, following a pass from Ollie Cox. The fourth arrived when Danny Hutchins crossed for Luke Ladyman to head home.

With 18 minutes remaining, Kings added a fifth as Atkins nodded in from a Campana corner. And, in the first minute of injury time, Adam Hallissey lobbed in a sixth to mark his return from an eight-month injury lay-off in style.

Kings Langley make the short trip along the A41 to Tring Athletic tomorrow.

Oxhey Jets were 2-1 winners at Leverstock Green on Tuesday – a result which leaves them fourth in the league standings and five points behind pace-setters Berkhamsted.

Eoin Casey gave Jets the ideal start when he converted a fifth-minute penalty following a push by Levy keeper David Bailey on the forward.

It took just four minutes for Green to equalise, Liam Hind scoring a penalty of his own after a Jets defender was penalised for jumping with his arm raised inside the 18-yard box.

A third set-piece goal settled the contest; Luke Beardsworth curling a free-kick up and over the Levy wall to seal the points for Wayne Gladdy’s men.

Jets’ first ever meeting with Wembley FC saw Gladdy’s side emerge as 1-0 winners thanks to Lee Armitt’s late strike on Saturday.

With four minutes to play, the striker was slipped through before coolly slotting home. The linesman had raised his flag as Armitt darted through, but following a long consultation between the officials, the goal was given and Jets took the points.

Jets travel to London Tigers tomorrow.

Table-topping Berkhamsted maintained their lead in the Premier Division by beating London Tigers 3-1 on Saturday.

Adiel Mannion opened the scoring for Berko when he connected with a right-wing cross, before London Tigers’ Ayoub Amellal tied the score at 1-1.

BJ Christie then scored the first of two when he made the most of the referee playing advantage to round the keeper and tuck into the empty net. The forward’s second arrived when he met Kyle Lincoln’s centre to make sure of the points.

Berkhamsted host Colney Heath tomorrow.

A late winner from Kieran Turner helped Tring Athletic turn around a first-half deficit to beat Biggleswade United 2-1 on Saturday.

Tring trailed when Jude Eboji was afforded the time and space to net from Jack Boyd’s cross and went in behind at half-time.

Substitute Taylor Collins equalised a minute after his introduction when he fired home on his left foot, before Collins turned provider for Kieran Turner to net with a precise finish in the 82nd minute.

Athletic host Hertford Town tomorrow.
