West Herts Ladies moved top of the East Premier by beating Broxbourne 4-3 to extend their run of consecutive wins to four games.

The game quickly sparked into life, with six goals scored in the opening 22 minutes. Hosts Broxbourne took the lead, but West Herts levelled soon after when Becky Perry flicked home from close range. Anna Coppel then struck powerfully to put West Herts ahead, before Broxbourne tied the scores up at 2-2.

A well-executed penalty corner put West Herts back in front via Perry, but once more Herts were pegged back by their hosts.

West Herts finally settled the tie after the break, Rachel Findlay scoring to seal the points.

In the NOW Pensions: East Conference, West Herts were crushed at unbeaten league-leaders Holcombe, who boasted former Great Britain skipper Barry Middleton among their ranks.

After an encouraging start, the Stags found themselves 3-0 down at half-time and could not find a route back into the game after the break, conceding eight more times.

Hoffan gave the Stags the lead, before Nick Carr and Richard Ambrose struck to give West Herts a 3-1 half-time lead.

Two further short-corner goals from Hoffan took the game out of sight and Luke Frey weighed in with a brace, before a lapse in concentration saw Welwyn snatch two consolation strikes.

West Herts Fourths bounced back from two heavy defeats in Division Five South West to beat Welwyn Garden City Seconds 6-1.

Two goals up at the break, strikes from Nils Mundy (2), Hayden Langford, Charlie Armitage and Colin Mannall ensured a comfortable margin of victory.

Ross Taylor got the game’s only goal as West Herts Fifths beat St Albans Sevenths 1-0 in Division Six South West.

West Herts Sixths were made to pay for profligacy in front of goal as they succumbed to a 2-1 home defeat to Royston Thirds in Division Seven South West.

Trailing 2-0, Simon Birch got one back for the Stags and only a fine last-gasp clearance prevented Richard Hopwood snatching a draw at the death.

A 5-2 defeat for West Herts Sevenths did not do them justice at Winchmore Hill & Enfield Fourths in Division Nine South West.

Jamie Marriott netted twice for the Stags, who could quite easily have secured a draw had they converted their numerous chances.

West Herts Ladies Seconds took a 1-1 draw away from a scrappy encounter with Harpenden Seconds in the Five Counties Premier.

Cathy Conroy struck midway through the first half to give West Herts a slender advantage, but they could not hold on and conceded a second-half equaliser.

West Herts Ladies Thirds claimed an impressive 3-1 win at Rickmansworth, putting to an end a string of disappointing performances in Five Counties Division One.

Ricky took the lead after just five minutes, but Watford hit back via Rachel Twine (2) and Hayley McNeill.

West Herts Ladies Fourths played out a goalless draw with Saffron Walden Fourths in a truncated 50-minute game in Five Counties Division Two.

There was a big win for the Ladies’ Fifths though, who extended their unbeaten start to the season by winning 5-0 at Milton Keynes Fourths.

Jo Perry hit a hat-trick and there were further efforts from Jenny Staines and Kellie Elkin.
