West Herts got back to winning ways in NOW Pensions NHL East after they recorded an impressive 5-1 win against Chichester Priory Park.

The Stags went into Sunday’s contest against second-placed Park with significant injury worries but they produced a fine first-half display.

Ed Beak struck twice for Herts before Dan Webster missed a penalty flick. However, the visitors added two more goals before the interval as Terry Kynaston grabbed a quick brace.

Chichester mustered a goal in reply but it proved to be scant consolation as Shea O’Sullivan, making his return to the side after suspension, netted the fifth with a reverse stick finish.

This weekend West Herts face a double-header. Brighton & Hove are the opposition tomorrow before the side travel to Southgate on Sunday in the EH Cup.

West Herts Ladies sit atop of Ladies East Premier after they recorded a convincing 4-0 win against Canterbury.

A determined start was rewarded after two minutes when Anna Coppel scored with a reverse stick shot after good work down the left from Anna McLaughlin and Evie Eyles.

The Stags continued to press and attacking opportunities were created from all areas of the pitch.

A second goal was added when Coppel was fouled and won a short corner. After a further infringement, a penalty stroke was awarded and Herts captain Becky Perry dispatched.

Although rarely called upon, Herts goalkeeper Rachel Bennett was alert throughout and made a number of key saves from short corners in the opening period.

Herts started the second half determined to add to their lead and Georgie Bartlett worked tirelessly on the right. She created numerous chances for Herts forwards Jess Howse and Rachel Findlay.

Midfield dynamo McLaughlin dictated play during the game and set up attacking moves into the Canterbury circle.

Great work by Rachel Twine and Perry set up Coppel for her second goal and the rout was completed with two minutes remaining when Perry sealed her brace.

Herts visit second-placed Old Loughtonians this weekend hoping a win will open a significant gap at the top of the table.

At youth level, the Under-16 Boys defeated Wycombe C 3-0 while the Under-14 girls overcame Amersham and Chalfont 3-1.

There were 6-0 and 2-1 defeats against St Albans Boys and Welwyn Garden City for the mixed West Herts Under-12s while a mixed Under-10s side lost against Welwyn A, defeated St Albans and drew with Welwyn B.

A 3-0 defeat to Oxford Firsts leaves Old Merchant Taylors’ men’s side second bottom of the Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional One table.

OMT have lost two and drawn one of their opening three games. They are only kept off bottom spot by Oxford Seconds.

The Seconds put in a battling display against Thame Firsts in Division One but were ultimately beaten 6-4. Karl Pereira and his father Warren Pereira netted braces in the defeat.

OMT Thirds drew 1-1 with West Hampstead Sixths in Division Five. Captain Ravil Hirani netted from a penalty corner for the home side.

The Fourths extended their winning streak in MBBO Open League Division Six to three matches after clinching a 2-1 victory against Ashford.

Peter Isard and Ian Lomas netted for OMT while Dan Grundy saved a penalty to ensure victory.

OMT Duchesses were beaten 3-0 by Chiswick Ladies Fourths while the Countesses drew 0-0 with Hendon & Mill Hill Ladies Thirds.
