Fullerians moved up to second place in London North West Three after a bonus point 24-21 victory over Belsize Park on Saturday.

Belsize started the brighter and caught Fullers out by going over the top; their number ten kicking superbly to put the visitors 3-0 ahead.

A subsequent lineout saw Fullers’ Mike Kerr go over from his own catch and drive. Centre Craig Duncan kicked the extras to make it 7-3.

The restart caught Fullers napping and immediately the Belsize Park backs went into overdrive and caught the home side offside, with the visiting number kicking to make it 7-6.

Fullers extended their advantage when Leandre Le Roux finished off a drive to crash over the line.

But Belsize fought back once more when their left winger scored in the corner. The Belsize ten converted to put the away side 13-12 ahead.

When Fullers were awarded a scrum five metres out, Simon Lye picked up and superbly offloaded to Le Roux who was once again on hand to score. Duncan added the extras for a 19-13 half time score.

The second half saw Belsize Park in the ascendency when they scored again in the corner after some lovely play by their backline.

Fullers again pushed for the line and it was down to the pack to dictate matters after they were awarded a five-metre scrum on the Belsize line. Lye brilliantly controlled the ball to score and make it 24-21, earning Fullers a bonus point.
