Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Four

Only three of the seven Watford Sunday League teams left in the competition made it through to the fifth round but the stand-out result was undoubtedly Reed Rangers’ 18-2 demolition of Rosedale.

Karl Penny hit a hat-trick to add to five each from Ashley Lewis and Dominic David. Phil Warrell (2), Nathan Gullen, Ashley Lawrence and Adrian Delaporte were also on target.

After an impressive win in the previous round, Division Two Croxley FC Reserves were comfortably beaten 7-1 by Division One outfit Tudor Arms.

Tudor’s Jack Robertson led the rout with four goals and was ably assisted by Daniel Regan and Jack Plunkett.

There was a surprise as Hammer went down 5-2 at Blacksmiths Arms, with goals from Daniel Burke and Daniel Page.

Green Dragon came through 2-1 against Leverstock Green Corinthians thanks to strikes from Luke O’Malley and James Blackwell.

Being drawn at home for a second time in the competition did Old Fullerians no favours as they went down 2-1 against Queens Head Sandridge, despite a fine strike from Sam Parker.

Rickmansworth Rovers were beaten 3-1 at home by Brookmans Park, with James Budden scoring the consolation.

Herts Sunday Junior Cup Round Three

Sun Postal Sports came through their rearranged tie, beating BB 2-0 through two-goal Louis Hakner.

North Watford lost out to the odd goal in seven, going down 4-3 at Church End. A brace from Mansoor Ali and one from Daniel Moss were not enough.

AFC Oddfellows were well beaten at Old Pond Athletic Reserves, losing 5-1; Michael Lambert netting Oddfellows’ consolation goal.

WSFL Challenge Cup Round Three

Previously unbeaten Oxhey Lions lost out 4-1 to Colne Valley, who advanced thanks to goals from Scott Paterson, Bradley Bonnick and David Rooney (2).

Premier Division

After seeing their match abandoned the previous weekend, Mill End Sports beat bottom side AFC Spartians 1-0 in a closely-contested game to move into second in the table.

Even Tom Mitchell’s superb strike could not prevent Gadeside Rangers losing 2-1 against Oakview, who consolidated their position at the top.

St Josephs ground out a 2-1 win against Rifle Volunteer thanks to efforts from Harry Brock and James Harper.

Following on from their Herts Senior Cup exit, Oxhey Estates were 6-2 victors over West Herts.

A comprehensive win was sealed by braces from Luke Beardsworth and Luke Lloyd, plus strikes from Sam Moore and Jonny McGeachey. Daniel Strachinaru and Attila Fekete hit back for West Herts.

Division One

Croxley FC beat Nascot Arms 2-1, leapfrogging them in the table in the process. Steve Noonan scored the goal for Arms.

Chorleywood Club cruised to a 3-0 victory over bottom side Cassiobury Rangers, with Owen Whatnaby, Aaron Whittingham and Luke Carmen all notching.

Division Two

Amici FC retained top spot by beating Langleybury Cricket Club 4-3, with their nearest rivals not in action.

Chris Coleman grabbed a brace, which was built upon by further goals from David Marsh and Greg Usher. Greg Cook (2) and Mark Edgar replied for Langleybury.

Rifle Volunteer Reserves were made to work hard for a 5-2 win over Met Police (Bushey).

Goals from Kevin West, Scott Simson, Sam Ryder and Jake Woolhead (2) cancelled out efforts from Ricky Gill and Richard Taylor.

West Herts Reserves moved up to mid-table in Division Two after beating Rickmansworth Athletic 3-2 thanks to Chris Blunden (2) and Roger Lake.

Ricky’s Steve Allen kept his team in contention with two goals.

Division Three

Dome Bar Area played out a 2-2 draw with Carpenders Park Rangers in a battle between two mid-table sides.

Phil Wilson scored twice for Rangers, whilst there was a goal each for Wayne Lawton and Paul Bella for the home side.

Woodlands United enjoyed their trip to Railway Arms, running out 4-0 winners thanks to goals from, Paul Royal, Floyd Tate and Danny Fitzpatrick (2).

Racing Santandome are now level on points with Sun Postal United after picking up a 2-0 victory against them.

The points were secured by goals from Gregory Willerstone and Christopher Dunn.

Santandome do boast games in hand on Sun and hope to improve on their current position.

Previously unbeaten and sitting top of the table, West Watford went down 2-1 away to Oxhey Rangers, who had a brace from Richard McCrossan to thank for holding onto third position.

With games in hand, Rangers’ win keeps up the pressure on the teams above them.

Division Four

Lacklustre Garston United were thumped 9-1 away to Evergreen Reserves, with Phillip Waldock grabbing a hat-trick.

Daniel Jones (2), Alex Jokiel, Chris Mclane, George Preece, Connor Herbert also got in on the act, as Jamie Looker netted for Garston.

The Swan took a point from their match at home to Hertsmere (Sunday) which finished 3-3, with Vilson Culaj scoring two and Michael Twelves grabbing one for the home side.

Hertsmere shared their goals around as Michael Adeyemi, Nathan Slinger and George Decon all found the net.

With both Bell Rangers and Sun Postal Sports not in league action, Wellington Arms took full advantage to leap into second spot by defeating Green Dragon Reserves 7-1, with Mark Richards recording a hat-trick.

Solitary strikes from Simeon Armstrong, Andrew Weller, William Baker and Tom Gilfacy condemned Dragon to defeat, with Scott Payne’s reply of little significance for the beleaguered beaten side.
