Kings Langley are the new leaders of the Premier Division after a 5-0 win over London Tigers on Saturday saw them overhaul Sun Sports.

Though Kings are only top of the pile on goal difference presently, Paul Hughes and Richie Hanlon’s side boast five games in hand over Sun, who succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Berkhamsted on Saturday, losing striker Simeon Fearon to a broken leg.

The forward was tackled from behind by Berko’s Ryan Charles, with a combination of the impact and fall causing the damage and resulting in fractured left fibula, ligament damage and a 15-minute delay as the paramedics were summoned.

Fearon has since undergone a successful operation to have a pin and plate inserted in his left leg and returned home.

Kings’ Alex Campana opened the scoring after 15 minutes against Tigers, receiving the ball from Danny Hutchins, taking on the defence and then cutting inside to beat the keeper.

A Callum Adebiyi run resulted in him losing the ball, but Connor Toomey was on hand to retrieve it and play in Nick Jackson, putting Kings in command.

They consolidated that lead after 35 minutes when Mitchell Weiss got up well to meet a Dean Hitchcock cross and head in off the post.

And four minutes later, Jackson’s through ball to Weiss saw the striker brought down, with Hutchins converting the penalty.

Kings took their foot off the pedal after the break but were still able to add a further goal when Hitchcock put a low shot out of reach of the keeper. On Tuesday Kings were knocked out of the Herts Senior Cup at the second round stage after losing 2-0 to Conference South side St Albans City.

Kings were undone by a brace from John Frendo, who struck at the beginning of the first half and the end of the second to knock Hughes and Hanlon’s men out.

On Saturday Kings host Hillingdon Borough before travelling to Hoddesdon Town on Tuesday evening.

Victory for Kings and defeat for Sun meant Paul Hobbs’ side slipped to second on Saturday after losing against Berkhamsted, though the game was overshadowed by Fearon’s injury.

The game’s decisive goal came in the aftermath of that injury, and with Sun undoubtedly reeling from the loss of the forward, Josh Chamberlain snatched the only goal of the game.

Sun came closest to taking something from the game when Richard Pearce’s header was cleared on the line by Liam James.

On Tuesday Sun were beaten 3-0 at home by Harefield United and Hobbs’ side will look to return to winning ways when they travel to London Tigers tomorrow.

Oxhey Jets halted their six-match winless run on Saturday by beating Harefield United 4-1.

Tyler Connor saw an early goal ruled out for a foul by Luke Lloyd on a covering defender, but a minute before half-time Joe Kelly nodded home to put Jets in front.

Harefield levelled on the hour mark, but seven minutes later the Jets were back in front when Lloyd drilled home.

Sim Armstrong grabbed the third with a stunning solo effort before Lee Armitt chipped home a stunning fourth.

Jets travel to Holmer Green on Saturday.

Berkhamsted blew their opportunity to rise to the top of the table when they lost 4-3 at Wembley on Tuesday.

Goals from BJ Christie (2) and Ed Canham were not enough to prevent the Comrades falling to defeat.

Mick Vipond’s side travel to Cockfosters on Saturday.

Tring Athletic were knocked out of the FA Vase third round after going down 1-0 to Norwich United on Saturday.

The game’s only goal came 13 minutes from time, ensuring the East Counties Premier Division side’s progress.

Tring returned to winning ways on Tuesday though, picking up a 1-0 win at Stotfold courtesy of Christopher Vardy’s strike.

Ampthill Town visit Cow Lane at the weekend.

Leverstock Green advanced to the third round of the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday, beating Ware 2-1 in their rearranged fixture.

Goals from David Sobers and Dene Gardner did the damage for Levy, who were held to a 2-2 draw against Ampthill Town on Saturday; Nathan Jellow and Luke Warner-Eley both on target.

Green entertain AFC Dunstable on Saturday.
