The Gary Norman President’s Cup Group A

Prince George gained a vital 3-1 win in the President’s Cup over Bushey Grove in Group A, which has become the classic 'group of death'.

The top three sides - Bushey Grove, Prince George and Bovingdon - are now all locked together on six points after three games and all separated by a goal of difference of just five.

Luke Everitt gave Prince George an early lead with his 21st goal of the campaign before Bushey’s Rob Ladmore equalised just before half time. But Rob Henney scored a double for Prince George with goals mid-way through the second half and the clincher coming five minutes from time.

Premier Division

Both Bovingdon and Old Danes Athletic racked up big wins to keep up the pressure at the top of a very tight Premier Division table.

Bovingdon moved into second place with a 6-0 win over Inter, having only held a slender single-goal advantage at the break thanks to a penalty from Chris Truman.

But in the second half - and playing with the advantage of going down the slope at Woodside - they scored five more through Mark McNicholas, Alan Tikerpae, Oliver Hammond, Tommy Gray and a second penalty of the game from Truman to complete the scoring.

Old Danes are now up into third place after a 7-0 victory over Cassiobury Revolution.

Colin Spooner was the start of the show for Old Danes, scoring four times and supported by a double by Chris White and single from Lewis Chappel van Gilst.

Division One

Bedmond kept up the chase on runaway league leaders United, who were involved in cup action, after a 9-0 victory over Roundbush.

The game could have turned out a lot differently had Roundbush converted an early penalty, which was saved by stand-in keeper Dayle Hewitt.

Bedmond then went ahead through Jamie Clark, but the score remained the same until the 38th minute when Jordan Davies doubled the lead. Luke Horne added a third three minutes later after good build-up play between him and Connor Winn.

When Davies scored his second to make it 4-0 on the stroke of half time, the game was effectively over, and the same scorer completed his hat-trick a minute after the break, chipping the keeper from 30 yards.

George Dalling made it 6-0 five minutes into the second half and Tedi Prushi netted the seventh with more than half-an-hour still to play.

George Caswell scored from the spot to make it 8-0 late on and Dalling rounded things off with his second of the game with a free-kick in the last minute.

Carpenders Park Rangers Reserves made hard work of a 2-0 win over bottom-placed Woodlands Laurels, who are still looking for a first point of the season.

The match was settled in the first half with goals from Matt Westwood and Harley Mead, his 20th of the campaign.

Chairman’s Cup Group B

United could not afford a third defeat in the battle to qualify for the last four, and they did what was required with a 4-1 victory over Dynamo Croxley.

Although the win has put them top of the group table, both Watford Labour Club and Bedmond have a game in hand.

Matt Bryne scored a double for United, with the other goals coming from Peter Challis and Ahmet Top. Michael Gillman netted Dynamo's consolation in the first half.
