Inter may no longer have had any hope of qualifying from the group but they still produced a shock result by holding Bushey Grove to a 2-2 draw yesterday.

It looked like being an easy morning for Bushey as they looked to improve their goal difference in what has become a very tight race for qualification to the semi-finals alongside Bovingdon and Prince George.

Harrison Jones gave Bushey an early lead after a dreadful goalkeeping mistake by Andrew Thompson. It was swiftly followed by a second from a penalty scored by Luc Grant.

It looked being a case of how many they would go on to score but a freak goal helped by the wind allowed a Chris Brook bounced clearance from his own half to pull Inter back into the game. Rob Cunningham then equalised from close range on the stroke of half-time.

The second half saw both teams miss good chances, but Inter were more satisfied with the point than their opponents.

The only saving grace for Bushey Grove was that Prince George lost 3-1 to Bovingdon, which puts them top of the group table.

This match was the proverbial game of two halves, with Prince George dominating the opening period but only taking a single goal lead into the break thanks to another effort from top scorer Luke Everitt.

The second half saw Bovingdon produce an excellent performance, with Matt McMahon equalising before a vital victory was wrapped up thanks to goals from Oliver Hammond and a Tommy Gray free-kick.

Old Danes Athletic beat Hertfordshire Lions 2-1 in a contest between two sides who had already qualified for the last four.

All the goals came in the first half, with Josh Oliver giving Old Danes the lead before Joe Tuberfield equalised soon after. The winner was scored by Lewis Chappel van Gilst.

Meriden Ballers overcame Cassiobury Revolution 2-0 in a dead rubber, with Alan Dunton scoring in each half.

Watford Labour Club’s 4-1 win over Dynamo Croxley leaves them on the brink of qualification for the last four.

Labour would need to lose their final game, and Bedmond to win both of theirs and see an 11-goal swing go against them in the process.

Patrick Slaven gave Watford an early lead before Alex Carbott equalised against the run of play.

In the second half Paul Collett put Labour back ahead before Slaven added his second when Dynamo failed to clear a corner.

Labour wasted some chances before Peter Hurwood scored from close range near the end to seal the victory.

The transfer of goalkeeper Daniel James and striker Will Keedy to Premier Division Cassiobury Revolution does not seem to have affected United after they made it eight wins out of eight with a 9-0 crushing of bottom-placed Woodlands Laurels.

Matt Bryne and George Mundy both scored hat-tricks, with Rhys McCloud, Joe Ray, and Darren O'Brien netting a goal each.

Second-placed Bedmond kept on the trail of United after a narrow single goal win over WD Athletic, with Tedi Prushi making the decisive contribution on the hour.
