Herts Sunday Senior Cup Round Five

St Josephs have reached the semi-finals thanks to an impressive 2-1 extra-time win against Belstone.

The task was made all the more difficult by a red card for Alex Brown just after half time but goals from Bradley Wadkins and Joe Kelly sealed St Joes’ progress.

Division One

Table-toppers Reed Rangers showed no mercy as they thumped eight-man Cassiobury Rangers 19-0.

Cassiobury had anticipated being down to ten men due to injury and unavailability but were further reduced to eight after two players – including their goalkeeper – failed to show up.

Reed were 6-0 ahead at half time and with Cassiobury understandably tiring, ran in a further 13 goals in the second period.

Dominic David scored nine goals, with Ashley Lewis (4), Lucas Gibbons (2), Nathan Gullin (2), Adam Crassweller and Jamie Speer also hitting the target.

Tudor Arms were also convincing winners as they overcame Rickmansworth Rovers 7-3.

Spencer Bellotti (3), Jack Robertson, Ian Hurst and an own goal sent Tudor through, with Harry Wallace, Hadleigh de Vale and Dean Mallett notching for Rovers.

Croxley FC beat Chorleywood Club 3-0 thanks to goals from Jack Waldron, Craig Garrett and Mason Bush.

Division Two

Third-placed Met Police (Bushey) picked up a useful 4-2 win over Langleybury Cricket Club which keeps them in touch with the top two.

Rod Gradwell scored a hat-trick, whilst Ashley Shanahan also netted to seal the points. Gary Cook and Mark Edgar got the Langleybury goals.

West Herts Reserves were made to work hard for their 5-3 win over basement dwellers Croxley FC Reserves.

Rob Boarder grabbed two, with Roger Lake, Chris Blunden and Al Hammouda also getting in on the act. Croxley scored via Jamie Dunlop (2) and from Rishi Doshi.

Rifle Volunteer Reserves surrendered a 2-1 half-time lead to lose 3-2 against Colne Valley.

Tom Seamons, Luke Clark and Gary Mumford cancelled out strikes from Mark Sellar and Dale Sears for Rifle.

RD FC and Rickmansworth Athletic played out a lively 2-2 draw.

Elliott Myrants-Wilson scored twice for RD and J.Taylor and Jordan Allen replied for Ricky.

Amici FC were 1-0 winners over Oxhey Lions, with Chris Coleman scoring the game’s only goal.

Division Three

AFC Oddfellows were resounding winners, hammering Railway Arms 9-0.

A hat-trick from Connor Flanagan was added to by braces from John Croft and David Wilson, with Gary Hennicke and Matt Coultham also registering.

West Watford were also in the mood for goals, battering North Watford 7-0.

Akram finished with three, whilst Aamar Kan (2), Ajmel Ahmed and Zahir Shah also chipped in.

Carpenders Park Rangers scored five times in the second half to crush Racing Santandome 6-0.

Andy Avis (2), Thomas Hughes, Bradley Hunt and Owen Davis all netted for Rangers.

Third-placed Dome Bar Area beat Oxhey Rangers 4-2 away from home.

Dome Bar’s goals came from Pietro Roja, Hayden Smith, Angelo Napolitano and Josh Shaw, whilst Rangers scored through Richard McCrossan and Tom Walsh.

Division Four

Second overcame third as Sun Postal Sports edged out Evergreen Reserves 3-2.

Louis Hakner (2) and Oliver Gould both struck to cancel out Kyle Rimmer and Stuart Henderson strikes, whilst Evergreen goalkeeper Dan Upwood saved a first-half penalty.

Hertsmere (Sunday) beat The Swan 2-1 in the battle at the bottom.

Dave Cummings and Danny Brennan got the Hertsmere goals, with Takis Gido scoring for Hertsmere.

The two clubs will possibly have to re-apply for re-election to Division Four next season, whilst Garston United are already certain to, having garnered just one point from 11 games and only three matches to play.

WSFL Junior Cup Quarter-Finals

Division Four side Bell Rangers pulled off a shock, knocking out Division Three outfit Sun Postal United 5-2 after extra-time.

With the game tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes, Rangers hit three in extra-time to advance into the last four. Harrison Harrison (3), Michael Goublay-Smith and Charlie Webster were all on target.

Wellington Arms, top of Division Four, overcame Garston United, who are bottom of the same league, 5-0 to book their semi-final place.

Simeon Armstrong (3), George Baker and Ryan McDonald got the goals for Arms.

Terry Devereux WSFL President’s Cup Group A

Sitting second in the Premier Division, Oxhey Estates made light work of bottom side West Herts, winning 6-1.

Luke Beardsworth helped himself to a hat-trick, whilst Ashley Armstrong (2) and Chris Killer rounded off the win. The Stags’ consolation came via Lawrence Olorunfemi.

WSFL Invitation Cup Group D

Green Dragon Reserves of Division Four pulled off a surprise win over Division Three outfit Woodlands United, winning 3-2.

Scott Bain, Ryan Carter and Daryl Spriggs all found the back of the net for Dragon, whilst Steve Lawrence and Mickey Hooker got the Woodlands replies.
