Tabard battled to a sixth consective win after claiming a 17-8 home victory over Hammersmith & Fulham in London Two North West.

The hosts made a dominant start to the match on Saturday and were rewarded with the opening try after nine minutes.

Captain Sam Barrow forced his way towards the line before Liam Kenny crashed over for the first score of the game. Jack Reilly’s conversion slid just wide of the target.

The visitors were coming under increasing pressure in the scrum and eventually Tabard’s dominance paid off as the referee was left with no choice but to award a penalty try to the home side. Reilly’s conversion made it 12-0 midway through the first half.

Tabard were temporarily reduced to 14 men when centre Gerald Arasa was sent to the sin bin for a deliberate knock on.

Hammersmith took advantage of this and forced their way over the line to get them back in the game.

Tabard made a strong start after the break and the hosts were rewarded with a third try.

Number eight Aaron Priscott managed to take the ball over the line to put clear distance between the sides.

Reilly was unable to direct his conversion on target but Tabard still had a 12-point lead.

Hammersmith could not fight back although the visitors did score the last points of the game through a penalty.

Tabard were searching for a bonus point fourth try but it proved elusive as an attack by Bill and Wilf Lake ground to a halt after the referee spotted a forward pass.

The side will look to extend their winning run when they travel to Harpenden in the league this weekend.
