Teenager Dom Ashwell hopes to step up his bid to win a place at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games with the Great Britain Bobsleigh squad.

The 15-year-old from Watford was selected to go on a Bob School Training Camp in December, which was funded by British Bobsleigh and SportsAid, but is hoping to attract funding for his training, with the next ice camp in March in Lillehammer.

The Bushey Meads School pupil, who has enjoyed plenty of success in another sport, recently set a personal best time of 6.82 in the 60m at the 2015 London Indoor Games for Under-17 and Under-15 athletes at Lee Valley.

Ashwell sits fourth overall in the all-time rankings for the UK for Under-17 boys. His time also broke the 6.86 record for the Lee Valley event, which had stood since 2008.

He is also the Hertfordshire 100m champion and current record holder with a time of 10.78.
