Kings Langley still hold all the aces in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division title race after winning two games in a week to maintain a two-point lead over AFC Dunstable.

Ritchie Hanlon and Paul Hughes’ side boast the added bonus of having three games in hand over their title rivals.

On Tuesday, Kings added another three points to their total with a 1-0 win over Hadley at Gaywood Park.

In a high-tempo half of attacking football, Kings went closest, with Lewis Toomey, Stuart Deaton and Mitchell Weiss all seeing chances go astray before Alex Campana hit the post.

The second half was less than ten minutes old when the decisive goal arrived. Workaholic Weiss tracked back to win possession and picked out Toomey, who crossed for Campana to turn home.

Saturday had seen Kings scored twice in the space of a minute to overcome Stotfold 4-2.

Weiss cancelled out Ben L’Honore’s 12th-minute strike before L'Honore put the home side back in front. But Weiss hit back once more on the stroke of half time to make it 2-2.

And goals in the 52nd and 53rd minutes from Danny Hutchins and Toomey sealed the victory for Kings, who host Berkhamsted tomorrow.

On Tuesday, Kings travel to Buckingham Athletic in the League Challenge Trophy.

Sun Sports crashed out of the Premier Division Cup after surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 against Berkhamsted in extra-time on Tuesday.

It did not take Sun long to assume the lead, Ashley Lewis beating Berko stopper Carl Tasker with a free kick from 20 yards after ten minutes.

And Lewis doubled up midway through the first half with a well-taken volley. Sun stopper Ross Hampton had to be alert in between the goals to keep out Jamie Gavin’s header.

Berko halved the deficit after an hour when Lewis Rodrigoe scored his first of the season and they pulled level as Josh Chamberlain converted a penalty following a foul on James Baldry.

Chris Lynskey hit the post in extra-time for Sun as both sides pressed for a winner. But it was the Comrades who advanced to the semi-finals after Ashley Morrissey struck the winner in the additional 30 minutes.

Mick Vipond’s side will host either Holmer Green or Cockfosters in the semi-finals. The pair meet next month.

Fourth-placed Sun were comfortable 3-1 winners over Hillingdon Borough on Saturday.

An own goal put Paul Hobbs’ men in the lead before Hillingdon levelled. Efforts from Gary Simmons and Scott Bonner sealed the points, though.

Sun host Wembley tomorrow before travelling to Leverstock Green on Tuesday.

Berkhamsted’s inconsistency was evident once more on Saturday as they fell to a 4-1 defeat at home to St Margaretsbury.

Adiel Mannion put the Comrades ahead after just 12 minutes but St Margs roared back to take all three points.

A stunning injury-time equaliser earned Tring Athletic a point in a 2-2 draw at Hertford Town on Tuesday.

Sam Joliffe let fly from fully 40 yards to earn a point for Tring, who had taken a first-half lead through Taylor Collins.

Saturday saw Tring beaten 2-1 at Harefield United, with Luke Dunstan scoring Athletic’s consolation effort.

Julian Robinson’s side host London Tigers tomorrow before travelling to AFC Dunstable on Wednesday.

Leverstock Green extended their losing streak to five games on Tuesday with a 4-1 loss against AFC Dunstable.

Louis Bircham capitalised on a goalkeeping error to level before three second-half goals.

Leverstock host Hadley tomorrow.
