Watford Sunday League Round-up

Herts Sunday Junior Cup Semi-Final

Sun Postal Sports' bid for a spot in the County final came to an end with a 3-0 defeat against Echoes FC of the Berkhamsted League.

Sun can now concentrate on their bid to win promotion from Division Four, where they sit in second spot with games in hand over the leaders.

Division One

Tudor Arms continued their promotion push with a 4-2 win over bottom side Cassiobury Rangers, who acquitted themselves well.

Spencer Bellotti netted a brace for Tudor, with Jack Robertson and Ian Hurst also finding the back of the net.

Matt Ladmore and Joe Mortimer were the Rangers scorers.

Croxley FC climbed above Chorleywood Club with a 3-1 victory.

Efforts from Mason Bush, Jack Waldron and Gary Hockey cancelled out Owen Warntnaby’s second goal in as many weeks.

Mid-table Old Fullerians dented the promotion hopes of third-placed Rickmansworth Rovers with a 2-1 win.

Craig Totten netted a brace to seal the points, with James Budden registering for Rovers.

Division Two

Rifle Volunteer Reserves consolidated their mid-table spot by eking out a 3-2 win at Croxley FC Reserves.

Goals from Sam Ryder, Barry Draper and Nathaniel Howell undid the work of Croxley’s Jamie Dunlop and Michael Gillman.

Met Police (Bushey) continued their fine run with a 2-0 win over second-placed Oxhey Lions.

The goals came from Ricky Gill and Dan Branch and it now appears, along with top side Amici FC, these three have the divisional honours sewn up.

Division Three

AFC Oddfellows were powerless to resist table-tapping Dome Bar Area, coming out the wrong side of a 5-0 beating.

Gary Hennicke grabbed a brace, with Conor Flanagan, Dale Freeman and Calvin Brandy also on target.

Third-placed Carpenders Park Rangers were in irresistible form, crushing Racing Santandome 9-0.

Andy Avis grabbed a hat-trick, with Bradley Brunt (2), Gavin Wilson, Jamie Ryan, Tam Hughes and Will Wilson also getting in on the act.

Oxhey Rangers took advantage of Dome Bar’s slip to move above them thanks to an excellent 5-1 win at home to second-placed West Watford.

A hat-trick from Ryan Walsh and strikes from Jack Walsh and Aaron Sakoor gave Rangers the points, with Zaheer Ahmed replying for the visitors.

North Watford remain in contention with a 3-1 win away to Woodlands United. And with games in hand over the top three, they still have a chance of promotion.

Leading by the only goal at half time North Watford took all three points with strikes from Liam Fowler, Daniel Moss and Mansoor Ali.

Mickey Hooker scored United’s singlular goal.

Division Four

Wellington Arms hit six goals for the second week running, beating Bell Rangers 6-4.

There were four goals for Wellington’s Simeon Armstrong, who was supported by efforts from Mark Coffey and Jordan Sibthorp.

James Aklexander notched a brace for Rangers and there were strikes from Lewis Burke and Jonathan James Shapero which kept the intrigue.
