Watford-born Steven Finn did not feature as England suffered the ignominy of exiting the Cricket World Cup before their final fixture after losing to Bangladesh.

England began their final Pool A match against Afghanistan tomorrow morning (Friday) knowing they are already out of the competition after losing to Bangladesh by 15 runs on Monday.

After a shaky start, Mohammad Mahmudullah hit 103, whilst Mushfiqur Rahim put on 89 to help reach a total of 275 for seven.

England lost Moeen Ali (19) early in their run chase and although Ian Bell managed 63, captain Eoin Morgan followed Bell back to the pavilion for a duck.

Jos Buttler (65) and Chris Woakes (42) offered some resistance but it was not enough to prevent England’s embarrassing early exit.
