Eight-player Kings Langley Ladies were crushed 12-0 by unsympathetic Houghton Athletic in the Beds & Herts Women’s Football League Division Three on Sunday.

Abbie Tarsey performed heroics in goal again, with the back four working hard to frustrate the hosts.

Amber Harris broke free and ran in from the left only to see her shot go agonisingly wide of the mark when Langley were only 1-0 down. Nicole Barrett also struck the post after breaking clear on the half-hour mark.

Trailing 6-0 at half time, the second period saw Langley continue to offer limited resistance; the hosts making the most of their numerical advantage by continuing to add to their tally.

Next up is a trip to Broadhall Ladies on Sunday (kick-off 2pm).

The Under-14s moved two points clear at the top of Herts Girls Football Partnership League Division Two, hammering Bengeo Tigers 9-0.

Elsewhere, the Under-13s won 2-0 at Bishop’s Stortford and are now sixth in Division Two, level on points with close rivals Garston Ladies Diamonds.

Both teams welcome new players. To get involved, contact Mark Bettles on 01923 264379 or 07904 676241 for the Under-13s and for the Under-14s contact Mark Underwood on 07958 690755.
