Watford Ladies Under-19 Development side returned to winning ways by beating Battersea & Wandsworth 3-0.

Zoe Cohen opened the scoring in the first minute and further strikes from Katie Hopkins and Sian Fiskin rounded off the win.

The Under-17 Wasps had a shaky start but came back to beat the Hitchin Belles 3-0.

A goalline clearance by Carly Gilbey prevented Hitchin from scoring in the first half and goalkeeper Lauren Englefield was called on to make a terrific save early in the second period.

Gilbey scored Watford’s first as her shot was deflected into the goal by a Hitchin defender and she extended their lead with a well-placed lob soon afterwards.

Alice Heady received Kelly Asojo’s cross to finish the scoring for Watford.

The Under-15 Harts did not fare so well as they were beaten 2-1 at home by St Albans South.

An own goal by Serena Patel gave the visitors the lead in the first half and they pulled further ahead early in the second period.

Emily Humphrey pulled one back for Watford but it was too little, too late and they were unable to find another before the final whistle was blown.

Thirteen proved to be an unlucky number for Bury Rangers as they were beaten 13-0 by Watford’s Under 13 Hornets.

Ciara Purdue let the scoring avalanche by netting a hat-trick and there were braces for Josie Layton and Rebecca Lovelace.

Charlotte Bailey, Jasmin Davidson, Charli O’Connor, Jolie Slater, Rubie Smith and Eloise Waring also got in on the scoring act by netting singles.

The Under-13 Harts went down 2-0 at Denham United.

Watford had the best of the possession in a scrappy match but Denham netted their first ten minutes before the full-time whistle.

As Watford battled hard for an equaliser, they were caught by a counter-attack at the death, condemning them to defeat.

The Under-12s could not repeat their previous week’s victory as they went down to a 4-0 defeat against Harpenden Colts.

The defeat would have been worse had it not been for stand-in goalkeeper Mia Brown, whose efforts earned her the player-of-the-match gong.
