Watford Harriers members returned from the Hertfordshire County Indoor Athletics Championships at Lea Valley with seven medals and six personal bests.

Under-15 Oliver Griffiths led the way by setting two new personal bests and winning gold in the 1,500m with a time of 4.45.99. He was also fourth in the 800m with a time of 2.30.45.

In the senior section there was a gold and a new personal best for Max Lowery in the 60m. Lowery topped last year’s County rankings for 60m.

Katherine Doran won gold in the senior ladies’ shot, while Cameron George’s time of 25.25 was enough to land him silver in the 200m.

Under-17 Remi Jessop won bronze in the 60m with a personal best of 825 and followed that up with a season’s best time of 27.47 in the 200m.

There was a new club record and personal best to boot for Under-17 Molly Jarvis, who claimed bronze in the shot put with a distance of 8.78m.

Further field success came via Under-15 Amelia Cooper, who picked up a silver medal in the long jump by managing a distance of 1.35m.

Under-17 Rebecca Ladyman set a season’s best time of 29.25 in the 200m, while Under-15 Georgia West ran 10.37 in the hurdles to set another season’s best.

There was also a personal best for Emilia Turnbull, who kept up her impressive form by recording 2.45.74 in the 800m.

Maurice Lisley competed in the Thames Meander Marathon, finishing in 3.53.00, and Mike Orton ran the inaugural North London Half Marathon in a time of 1.35.21.

In Blackburn, Chloe Dearman represented Hertfordshire in the English Schools’ Championships Under-20 woman’s race, finishing 205th in a time of 19.27.
