Bushey Grove defeated Bovingdon twice easily in the a double header yesterday to take the title race down to them and leaders Old Danes Athletic.

Both results owed much to Sean Shinkwin, who set up Harrison Jones' two goals in the first game whilst scoring the fourth himself. The third goal came from Paul Kenwright.

In the second game Shinkwin struck a hat-trick, including a late penalty, and was supported by a goal from Kevin Kenwright.

Bovingdon’s sole reward for their morning's work came from a goal scored by Josh Jones.

These two wins leave Bushey and Old Danes Athletic both locked together on 26 points with two games left. Old Danes are just ahead with a better goal difference of two, plus 23 to Bushey’s 21.

This sets up a probable title decider between the two teams on Monday, May 4, after Sunday’s scheduled clash was postponed. Each side also has one other league game remaining as Bushey face bottom-placed Cassiobury Revolution while Old Danes take on Bovingdon.

Hertfordshire Lions got the better of Prince George 2-1.

Lions' title hopes have all but ended but they still look likely to finish in the top four and have a President’s Cup Final appearance to look forward to.

They took an early lead just two minutes into the game when Joe Turberfield headed home. Prince George equalised on the half-hour after the driving wind took the ball over the Lions defence, allowing Luke Everitt to score and take his total for the campaign to 31 goals and the likely top scorer in the league this season.

The second half saw Lions miss several good chances before Jamie Balmer scored the winner 20 minutes from time with a powerful curled shot into the bottom corner.

Prince George thought they had scored a late equaliser but it was controversially ruled out for offside.

Champions United beat WD Athletic 4-0, with all the goals coming in the second half through a Matt Bryne brace and one apiece from Adam Matthews and Rhys McLeod.

WD’s defeats sets up an effective 'play-off' for third place in the league on April 19 between Watford Labour Club and Dynamo Croxley. A win or a draw will be enough for Labour whilst Dynamo have to win to overtake both sides.

Dynamo could only take a point from the game against Carpenders Park Rangers Reserves.

They did take the lead through Aaron Bright, the home side then went ahead thanks to goals from Harley Mead and Jake Mole before Dev Patel equalised for Dynamo to secure a 2-2 draw.

Watford Labour beat second-bottom Roundbush 3-1.

John Barker, Mark Bedford, Paul Collett scored the Labour goals with Blaise Shevrington replying for Bush.
