Bushey ABC’s Cameron Paul has won the gold medal after claiming the GB Schools Three Nations title in Swansea at the weekend.

In his 34kg semi-final, national schoolboy champion Paul kicked off England’s campaign in style against Teeman Williams of Wales.

Shortly before the end of the first round, a solid right hand from the Queens’ School pupil led to a standing count for his opponent followed by another early in the second round. The referee stopped the bout in Paul’s favour as he clinched a TKO victory.

Paul, 14, faced Korben Crocker in the final and clinched a unanimous points win over the home boxer.

Paul started well with good solid counters. In the second round he picked off his opponent with precision. Paul was in control during the third round and secured a comprehensive decision to land the gold medal.

It capped an excellent return for England’s boxers with 11 golds and three silver medals.
