Hemel Hempstead Town made it two wins out of two in Chess Valley League Division One after easing to a comfortable 40-run victory over Harefield on Sunday.

After being put into bat, Hemel were all out for 156.

Openers Aaron Wilson and Josh Graves both scored 32 but the middle order struggled with only Tom Waterton (20) and Sam Jenkinson (38 not out) making any impression.

But Hemel’s bowling attack proved up to the task as Harefield were dismissed for 116.

Brad Finch fared best, taking five for 25, and Jay O’Nien was another influential performer as he came away with four for 47.

Hemel Hempstead Seconds completed a club double by cruising to a 63-run win over Harefield Seconds in Division Six.

Opener Liam Jahn led the way with a superb unbeaten 117 for Hemel. Adam Moulster was another key figure as he hit 73 while Steve Smith’s unbeaten 34 helped the side post an impressive total of 236 for three.

Harefield were unable to match their opponents, coming up short on 173 for nine.

Under-14 player Ellis Bisgrove made a strong impression, taking three for 54. Charlie Hoskins claimed two for 16 and Moulster picked up two for 29 for the victors.
