Berkhamsted will start the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division season with a trip to Leverstock Green on Saturday, August 8.

The Comrades follow their opener with another local derby at home to Sun Sports on Tuesday, August 11.

Premier Division Cup holders Berko have been drawn away to last year's runners-up Colney Heath in the first round of the competition. The winners of the tie will trave to Hadley.

In the Challenge Trophy, Berkhamsted will host Aylesbury United Reserves - a side that play two divisions below them. The winners will visit either Stotfold or London Colney in the second round.

Berko, who started pre-season training yesterday (Thursday) will also host St Margaretsbury on Tuesday, August 4 in the Herts Charity Shield.

The club have appointed Tony Armitage as the manager of their Development squad who play in the Suburban League North division.

He comes from a similar role at Evo-Stik Premier club Arlesey Town's Spartan South Midland Division One side.

Armitage includes Langford, Codicote and Tring Athletic as his former clubs.

New players wishing to join the club should contact Armitage by emailing touchline53@hotmail.com.
