St Joseph's Primary School clinched victory at the Primary Sporting Development Year 4 community football tournament.
The South Oxhey side triumphed over Rickmansworth Park’s A team on penalties to get their hands on the silverware at Yorke Mead Primary School on Thursday of last week.
After progressing through the group stages, St Joseph’s overcame Tanners Wood from the spot to secure their final berth, whilst Rickmansworth Park defeat Coates way in a shoot-out in the other last-four clash.
The final itself was just as tight as the semis and penalties were again required as the teams remained level after both normal and extra time.
St Joseph’s goalkeeper made a good save in the shoot-out before dusting himself off to take a penalty of his own.
He scored emphatically and was named player of the tournament owing to his part in the dramatic finale.
