Watford’s Kyle Langford scooped his first British title by taking gold in the men’s 800m at the British Championships in Birmingham.
The 19-year-old won gold in a time of 1.49.70 with Michael Rimmer just behind in 1.50.04. Third place went to Gareth Warburton in 1.50.41.
Langford, who belongs to Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers, had qualified as winner of heat three on Saturday - a time of 1.49.18 putting him just ahead of Guy Learmonth (1.49.44) and John Bird (1.49.74) in second and third respectively.
