The Year 5 and 6 girls' football team at Tanners Wood JMI School have become the school's most successful ever after doing the treble in an unforgettable season.

Winning the League Cup, Watford District Primary Schools Football Association Six-a-side Trophy and Under-11 girls' knockout cup, Tanners Wood's Year 5 and 6 side have been the most successful in the school's history.

PE subject leader Helen Sansom said: "They are just amazing. They are very well lead by an amazing captain (Kayra Karakus).

"They are very cohesive, know their responsibilities, are committed, enthusiastic and just have all the qualities any successful side needs."

In 14 games the girls netted an incredible 49 goals – with Karakus scoring 33 – and conceded a miserly two.
