Middleweight Myley Cash takes the next step in his promising ring on Saturday as he goes to six rounds for the first time as a pro.

The Watford boxer's fight at York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday, July 18 will be his first over the six-round distance.

Cash has won four fights over the four-round distance and the 22 year-old said: "I want to push on now.

"I've had a break, but now I'm settled, fully focused on boxing and I just want to fight. It's as simple as that. I want to see how far I can go.

"I'm looking forward to boxing over six rounds. The pace will suit me. I will have more time to pick my shots. Over the longer rounds, it's more of a chess match."

Cash showed what a good thinking fighter he is last month when he was a four-round points winner over Gary Cooper at the York Hall.

The Welshman is a rugged, capable fighter who tests prospects on the way up, but Cash schooled him and won clearly on points.

Cash, who picked up an injury to his right hand during the third round, said: "It would have been a hard fight if I had stood in front of him. He's tough enough to take your punches and come back with his own. But I used my speed and timing - and he didn't have an answer.

"I've had five fights and they were all against decent journeymen. I don't want opponents who will just lie down because when I step up I will get found out.

"But I'm getting rounds under my belt against different styles and I'm improving with every fight.

"I'm only 22 years old and I've still got lots to learn."

The show at the Bethnal Green is topped by Watford middleweight Elliott Matthews defending his Southern Area-title against Chris Rackley and tickets are available by calling 07402 924234.
