Hemel Hempstead Town Fourths cruised to a 104-run win over Dunstable Thirds in Herts Division Eight B.

Batting first, Hemel managed to score 200 all out from their innings. Scott Radcliffe was the top scorer on 37 and Dawood Iqbal added 36 but it was a match where the runs were shared around throughout the side.

Dunstable could simply not cope with Hemel's bowling attack and they crumbled to 96 all out in 36 overs. Chris Pearson (four for 24) and Iqbal (four for 27) produced a formidable partnership as they snared eight wickets and clinched the points.

In Division Nine A, Kings Langley Thirds were blown out of the water by Harpenden Dolphins in a five-wicket defeat.

Asked to bat first, Kings made a comfortable start but regular wickets left them struggling at 90 for five. Jacob Hutchings led the recovery with a hard earned 45 and guided the team to 180 all out.

In reply, Harpenden got off to a flying start and were always above the run-rate. Wickets threatened to build pressure but Harpenden managed to win in just 26 overs. Nauman Hijaz and Elliot Hutchings picked up two wickets apiece.

Abbots Langley Thirds suffered a third consecutive defeat in Division Nine B after losing by three wickets to Shenley Village Thirds.

James Allen continued his form with 53 ably supported by Tom Ruxton Snr on 30 as the side posted 184 all out. Neel Patel bowled aggressively for his three wickets but Shenley Village managed to edge their way to the points in 38 overs.

In Division Ten B, Watford Town Thirds were left frustrated after the league leaders were held to a draw with Preston Thirds in Division Ten B.

Asked to bat first, Town never seemed troubled and scored quickly and freely. Sandeep Shinagara scored 56 and Si Sampat contributed 64 along with 24 from Jidran Mohamand as the team posted 223 all out from 53 overs.

But the umpiring controversy started in the first over when a clear edge off the Preston captain's bat was given not out. That was followed by several leg before wicket decisions given in favour of the batsmen.

A difficult chance was put down at second slip which proved costly as Andrew Hedges went on to make 53. Town toiled away on a flat pitch but could not finish off the opposition as Preston avoided defeat on 193 for seven. The pick of the bowlers were Zirak Khan and Tyler Stanger.

Watford Town Fourths clinched back-to-back wins after a seven-wicket victory over Chorleywood Fourths in Regional Division B West.

After winning the toss, Watford Town asked Chorleywood to bat. Their batsmen Simon Dare (63) and Jonathan Lyons (58) were the stand out performers as they posted 185 for nine but Watford Town bowler Kaushal Limbachiya was too much for the rest of the team as she spun his way to a career best five for 20.

In reply, Watford's batsmen were always ahead of the run rate. After a quick 20 from captain John Crosdil, it was left to Parish Sorathia (45 not out) and the excellent Abu Choudhury (106 not out) to guide Watford Town to victory.

Watford Town Fifths returned to the top of the table after a comprehensive eight-wicket win over Boxmoor Fourths in Regional Division C West.

Excellent tight bowling from all of Town's bowlers restricted the runs but the standout figures came from Alan McQueen with five for 19 from ten overs. Boxmoor finished on 88 all out from 39 overs.

Despite this lowly total, Boxmoor came out strongly when Watford Town started their reply and would have expected more wickets from their opening bowlers after putting a lot of pressure on the opening batsmen. But after initial struggles to get the ball away and put runs on the board 15-year-old Adam Allaway hit an unbeaten 59. He was well supported by 14-year-old Calum Coates in a 66-run partnership which saw Watford Town home with something to spare.

Kings Langley Fourths were held to a draw with Bushey Fourths.

Bushey batted first posting a total of 217 for nine. George Hunt (three for 57) and Tony Thompson (three for 58) were the successful Kings bowlers. In reply, Kings were never in the game and settled for 122 for five with skipper Tony Thompson hitting a half-century (52).
