A brilliant match-winning knock of 72 not out from Dave Tyson edged Leverstock Green past Kings Langley's target of 238 with one ball to spare in their quarter-final tie.

Having watched a series of middle-order partners get out, Tyson put on 30 with Imran Iqbal (16) for the eighth wicket before an unbeaten ninth-wicket stand of 63 with Richard Walker, who rotated the strike patiently for his 14 not out.

The pair whittled the target down from 32 to win off the final four overs to just four required from the last six balls. Walker hit three to level the scores, good enough for Green on wickets lost, but it was fitting that Tyson should enjoy the privilege of striking a match-clinching boundary to loud cheers from a healthy crowd at The Green.

Before Tyson's heroics, Miles Barnard had set up the chase with a typically swash-buckling 63. Ajit Kumar's 30 was the only other contribution of note.

Green came off for tea pleased with their work earlier in the afternoon. They never lost a reasonable grip on Kings' total, which ended arguably at least 50 short of par on another belter of a track.

Dan Donaldson was the pick for the visitors with a steady 79, although he didn't find a partner willing to stick around long enough to create a more imposing total.

Levy will now face Shenley Village in the last-four on Sunday, August 16.

Abbots Langley cruised into the semi-finals of the competition after a dominant 180-run win over Old Elizabethans.

A superb stand of 189 between Chris Chellew (134) and Matt Dunstone (86) was the mainstay of a huge total as they posted 307 for six. Old Elizabethans were never in the hunt as they lost quick wickets. Chellew took five for 17 as the opposition crumbled to 127 all out.
