Chipperfield Clarendon defeated Great Gaddesden by 31 runs on Sunday in the Dave Anderson Trophy.

The match was held in memory of Dave Anderson, a past chairman of Great Gaddesden and honorary life member of Chipperfield Clarendon.

Chipps won the toss and batted first. Jack Bambury scored 74 and Michael Edwards contributed 67 as Chipperfield closed on 258 for eight from 35 overs.

In reply, Great Gaddesden scored freely and had a real go at the total with John Cheeseman Jnr scoring 80 but they eventually fell short on 227 for seven.

Afterwards, Dave Anderson's widow Joan presented the trophy to Richard Hudson, the winning skipper, in the first of an annual challenge match between the two sides.
