West Herts had an up and down mixed of pre-season preparation with victory against Wapping before defeat at Holcombe.
Former Welsh international Andrew Seimann was handed his debut in Saturday’s 11-2 stroll against Wapping and netted from close range in the second half.
Coach Matt Grinham rang the changes during a largely untroubled performance, which featured several well-worked goals and tireless performances from Terry Kynaston and Dan Webster.
But on Sunday the Stags travelled to Holcombe – a team that dealt out two heavy defeats to them in the league last season on their way to promotion – and lost 6-3.
The ladies were also beaten at Holcombe on Sunday, ending up on the wrong end of the same scoreline in their first real pre-season test.
