Kings Langley bounced back from their FA Cup exit with a 2-0 win over Northwood on Bank Holiday Monday in the Southern League Division One Central.

Goals from Ollie Cox and Mitchell Weiss at either end of the second half secured a hard-fought victory as Kings bounced back following two straight defeats.

In a first period of little goalmouth action, Weiss had the hosts’ best chance as he raced clear only for Northwood keeper David Moran to tip his effort round the post.

After the break it took Kings just 40 seconds to break the deadlock as Cox turned in Connor Toomey’s low cross from the left.

There were then opportunities for both sides to get the second as Kings keeper Rob Partington denied George Nicholas before substitute Tom Carter, rattling the bar, nearly doubled the hosts’ lead.

But as the Wood threw more men forward in an attempt to equalise Kings capitalised and Weiss, collecting the ball ten yards inside his own half, sealed the victory in the sixth minute of added time.
