Premier Division

Bedmond produced an amazing comeback from 3-0 down in the second half to beat Prince George 4-3 on Sunday.

It looked like being a harsh introduction to the top flight for last season’s Division One runners-up as Prince George looked in complete control of the game in the opening period.

Luke Everitt and Anthony Yelland put their side two goals clear by the break; indeed they should have been further ahead by the halfway point.

Prince George looked to have clinched the points five minutes into the second half when Yelland completed his brace, but that goal sparked off a remarkable comeback from their opponents. The catalyst for this recovery was midfielder Les Lane, who helped to inspire the fight back.

Tedi Prushi, making his last appearance before going to university, scored twice in a ten-minute spell to bring his side back into the game. Prince George were then reduced to ten men following a second yellow card for Everitt, before Alfie Devane hit a volley into the far corner as the away side looked to have earned an unlikely point.

But better was to come when in injury time, George Dalling flicked a header over the keeper from a free-kick to win the game and complete an incredible turnaround.

Old Danes Athletic are clearly laying down a marker in the Premier Division as they came from behind to beat Nascot Arms 3-1.

Jamie Beaumont put Nascot ahead after 31 minutes when Old Danes failed to clear their lines. The lead only lasted three minutes though, when Chris White rounded the keeper to score from a narrow angle following a swift counter-attack.

The second half was end-to-end with both teams missing good chances, and it was from one of those that Old Danes went ahead with nine minutes left. After Nascot struck the crossbar, the ball was cleared up field, allowing White to race through and score.

White completed his hat-trick four minutes later following another counter-attack as Nascot pushed players forward looking for the equaliser.

Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round One

AFC Bovingdon suffered a third straight defeat of the season as they lost 4-2 to Watford Sunday League outfit West Watford.

Ollie Hammond gave Bovingdon an early lead which they held into the second half until West Watford scored two quick-fire goals.

Bovingdon drew level thanks to Tommy Gray’s well-taken shot from the edge of the area, but once again they switched off, allowing their opponents to retake the lead.

Although the home side then missed a penalty, they wrapped up the win in the final minute.

Inter suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Apsley Athletic.

They trailed 2-0 at the break after a poor first-half performance, with a third following after the break.

Division One

Not many clubs can probably boast the two results which have befallen South Oxhey Labour Reserves in the last two games, as they followed up a 9-0 victory with defeat by the same scoreline at the hands of Meriden.

Ashley Gerard gave Meriden the lead after 15 minutes, before further goals followed from Lewis Gordon and Dean Ward.

The victors then ran riot in the second period as half-time substitute Tom Dettmer scored four goals in 20 minutes, with Aaron Crawford and Alan Dunton also on target.

Dome Bar came from behind to beat Watford Labour Club 5-1.

Stuart White put the away side in front before Dome Bar levelled just before half-time through Chris Mowle.

That goal turned the game and in the second period Dome Bar ran out easy winners thanks to a Darren Hartland brace and one each from Martin Preston and Matthew O'Brien.

Roundbush, who have looked a far better side this season despite two defeats in the opening two games, finally got a deserved win with a 4-1 victory over Green Machine.

Stephen Burke put Green Machine ahead and they then saw a Sid Jordan strike hit the underside of the crossbar and bounce clear. This let off seemed to lift the home side and they went on win thanks to a double from John Catterson and one each from Andrew Duncan and David Flannery.
