Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round One

The Watford Sunday League had four teams in County Cup action and all made it safely through to the second round.

RD FC were the biggest winners, triumphing 8-1 at Comet Sports Club Reserves thanks to a brace of hat-tricks from Elliot Myrants-Wilson and Jake Levy, while Chris Fisher-Rayner netted the other two goals.

Rickmansworth Athletic also had a free-scoring away day, claiming a 7-3 success at FC Boca. Connor Haynes and Michael Craggs both scored twice with Simon Lee, Jordan Allen and Scott Reeves also finding the target.

A treble apiece from Rob Gradwell and Richard Taylor saw Met Police (Bushey) to a 6-1 home win over Windmill Athletic, while West Watford got the better of Olympic League opponents AFC Bovingdon 4-2.

Eric Hand WSFL Challenge Cup Round One

Oxhey Rangers made the two-division gap tell as they reached round two with a 4-2 win at Bushey Rangers.

Richard McCrossan (2), Jack Walsh and Liam Coles scored for Division Two side Rangers, with Adam Bell and Scott Cain replying for their fourth division opponents.

West Herts won by the odd goal in three in their all-Division Two tie against Rifle Volunteer Reserves; Chris Blunden and Ashley Bridewell registering for the triumphant home side.

Premier Division

Two top-flight fixtures were brought to a premature end due to player injuries.

Champions Oakview had been in danger of losing their 100 per cent start to the season as they were trailing 3-2 at Oxhey Estates when their game was abandoned after 70 minutes.

Rickmansworth Rovers’ encounter with Hammer was still goalless when it was halted shortly before half time.

St Josephs made it two league wins out of two after beating Vision United 3-1.

Connor Flanagan, Dean Seabrook and Jack Read found the back of the net for the home side, with Adam Wallace replying.

Reed Rangers opened up their Premier Divison campaign by securing a 4-2 victory at Rifle Volunteer through a Dom David brace and singles from Karl Penny and George Hobson. Wayne Jackson and Tom Horton struck Rifle’s goals.

Division One

Oxhey Lions and North Watford both got their first league wins on the board in six-scoring fashion.

Lions ran out 6-1 victors at Gadeside Rangers through two goals apiece from Liam Hanley and Luke Beardsworth. Steve King and Trafford Nolan also notched for the visitors, with Harry Lock securing Rangers’ consolation.

The scoreline was repeated in the other game but on this occasion it was home side North Watford who comfortably got the better of AFC Oddfellows.

Tommy Twelves and Orlando Meridith shared the six goals equally between them as Lamar St Cyr registered for Oddfellows.

Two Andy Avis goals enabled South Oxhey Labour Club to take over at the top after making it three wins out of three following a 2-0 home victory against Croxley FC.

Oxhey leapfrogged Old Fullerians, who are still unbeaten but dropped their first points of the campaign after being held to a 3-3 draw at home by third-placed Chorleywood Club.

Craig Totten, Luke Wright and an own goal accounted for Fullers’ tally but these were cancelled out by Luke Haterall, James Roach and Ryan Mahon goals.

Divison Two

The clash of the early-season top two in the division ended honours even in a 2-2 draw between Cassiobury Rangers and Langleybury Cricket Club.

Frankie Henly scored one of Rangers’ goals but their table-topping opponents secured a point thanks to Gary Cook and George Minihan.

Colne Valley moved up to third after goals from Andy McKenzie-Bell, Joe Murphy, Mladen Dinev and Max Harris earned a 4-2 win over Croxley FC Reserves, with Ollie Edwards and Alex Tomlinson on target for the visitors.

Division Three

Leaders Tudor Vets continued their 100 per cent start as Dave Herbert and an own goal earned a 2-0 win at Woodlands United.

Bell Rangers are the other side in the division to have made a perfect start, although they have played one game less, having edged out Cassiobury Revolution 3-2.

Two goals from Jack Halcomb and Lee Everitt’s sole strike secured the victory for the home side, with Alex MacDonald and Paul Coleman netting for Revolution.

The Swan and Green Dragon Reserves both enjoyed good wins, the former beating Sun Postal Sports 4-0 through Sham Patel, Jonathan Tesfay, Maz Urgo and Mark Brennan, while Dragon saw off Railway Arms 5-2. Tommy Cox, Ryan Carter, Nathan Tobie, Tony Browne and an own goal registered for the victors, with Michael Latham and Adam Williams replying.

The other game in the division ended 1-1 as Rob Bailey and Callum Spalding were on target for Evergreen and Hertsmere (Sunday) respectively.

Division Four

It’s now two games played and 22 goals scored for early leaders Fox and Hounds after they won 5-0 at Ripstone courtesy of Bradley Thompson’s treble and Richie Stone’s double.

Second-placed Bushey Sports Club are also in strong scoring form, triumphing 7-2 at Woodlands Laurels.

Matt Irons led the way with four, Harry Healy struck twice and Jack Huggett also scored for the visitors. An own goal and Bes Brema netted for their defeated hosts.

AC Little Silhouette of Milan conceded 17 in their first league game. Although they were beaten again, their 4-0 defeat to Ardent represented defensive improvement. Glenn Rawlings, Keifer Shuttleworth and Chris McHugh wrapped up the points for the visitors.

Reece Chick, Harry Hedges, Harris Hasancevic and Stuart Henderson were among the goal getters as The Compasses defeated Chess United 5-3; Jack Honey, Joe Samson and Tom Rhodes notching for the away side.
