Herts Sunday Senior Cup Round One

Premier Division big guns Oakview and St Josephs joined Reed Rangers in making it safely through to the second round of the County Cup but the Watford Sunday League did not enjoy as much success as it may have hoped for.

A brace apiece from Lee Armitt and Adam Lowton and Owen Deamer’s single strike saw Oakview to a 5-2 success at Real Ale Madrid, while Dom David’s hat-trick and George Hobson’s goal ensured Reed won their all WSL-tie at Rifle Volunteer. Joes got through without kicking a ball courtesy of a walkover against Allenburys.

A Liam Crouch brace took Vision United to extra-time before they went out 3-2 at Hertford Saints, while Oxhey Estates also lost a tie on the road, 5-2 at Finchley United. Chris Killer and Johnny McGeachie netted for Estates.

Nathan Singh’s goal was the sole consolation from Green Dragon’s 3-1 exit at Stortford Cobras and efforts for Adam Seabrook and R.Carolan could not save Rickmansworth Rovers from losing 3-2 at home to Flamstead End. Hammer are also out after their tie was awarded to Percival.

Fellow Division Three outfit Evergreen also hit eight to knock out Division Four’s AC Little Silhouette of Milan 8-1; the goals shared around between Anthony Benvenga (2), Kyle Rimmer, Callum Rimmer, Dan Jones, Aleks Jokiel, Chris John and Connor Herbert.
