Oxhey Jets slumped to a comprehensive 5-1 defeat at home to free scoring Berkhamsted in the South Midlands Premier Division on Saturday.

Adam Mead fired the visitors into the lead with a fierce strike which gave the home goalkeeper no chance.

The Jets were then unlucky to see the impressive Adam Lowton hit the crossbar when through on goal.

Some careless defending from the home team allowed Bradley O’Donovan to score twice before the break which gave them a commanding 3-0 lead.

Oxhey pulled a goal back before half time when Jon Daily scored in first half injury time.

In the second half Frankie Jowle scored the goal of the game when he controlled the ball and beat two men before arrowing a shot into the net.

Adiel Mannion marked his return from injury when he came off the bench and converted the final goal to seal a memorable win for the visitors.

Berkhamsted eased to a 3-0 win over London Tigers on Tuesday night.

The Comrades have now scored 19 goals in their last five league and cup matches. Berko opened the scoring when Mannion spotted the goalkeeper off his line and lobbed a delightful shot over the head of Arlys Pampolim.

It was 2-0 in the second half when O’Donovan found the net for his fifth goal in four games. The hosts rounded off the scoring when Jowle nodded home at the near post.

Berko host Northampton ON Chenecks in the FA Vase this weekend.

Leverstock Green suffered a 5-2 home defeat to league leaders AFC Dunstable on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead before a strange second goal when Leon Cashman tried to return the ball, following an injury, to Green but his kick flew over the goalkeeper.

Dunstable sportingly let Louis Bircham walk the ball into the net but the visitors then added a third goal.

Leverstock pulled another back through a chip from Bircham but two more goals sealed the leaders' win.

Sun Sports also crashed to a 5-1 defeat at Welwyn Garden City on Saturday after having three players and the manager sent off.

A melee saw Dominic David, Ashley Lewis and Welwyn's Ashley Kersey dismissed. Sun boss Paul Hobbs was then ordered off before a late red card for captain Scott Bonner.

Two goals in the first 11 minutes fired City into a comfortable lead. Sun pulled one back in the second half through David.

But three more goals for the home side ensured it was a disappointing afternoon for Sports.

Tring Athletic extended their unbeaten run to five games after a 3-1 home win over Bedford.

The hosts got off to a blistering start and took the lead after 12 minutes when Chris Vardy volleyed the ball into the net.

It was 2-0 shortly afterwards when Ollie Hogg coolly fired home. Tring put the game beyond doubt when Kieran Turner netted their third goal before Jack Boyd scored a late consolation for Bedford.
