Garston Ladies moved up to joint-second with a thumping 4-1 away to Toddington Rovers on Sunday.

A brace from Gemma Curtis and a goal each from Lucy Zeccin and Emma Trill saw Garston rise up the Beds & Herts County Girls and Women’s Football League standings in style.

The Under-14 Panthers were one of four younger teams that managed to play despite the rain but they weren’t rewarded as they went down 4-0 to Bury Rangers.

Trailing 3-0 at half time the visitors upped their game in the second half but it wasn’t enough as they conceded their fourth of the game. Georgia Sargent was awarded player of the match.

Despite battling the elements, the Under-12 Wildcats were well beaten 10-0 at Boreham Wood.

The visitors had no substitutes available and despite all their efforts, they couldn’t fend off the attacks.

Jemma Hyman and Lauren Roberts shared goalkeeping duties and Emma Lumley’s performance won her the player of the match gong.

The Under-11 Panthers weren’t able to find the back of the net in their game away to Denham with poor concentration and a lack of urgency to blame. Katie Smith’s display saw her chosen as player of the match for the second week running.

The only winning Garston youth side were the Under-8 Jaguars, who were victorious against Bedwell Rangers.

Marcia Itani was the first to net before Ruby Edwards and Player of the Match Hope Quinlan got in on the act.

  • Watford Ladies' Under-11 Harts faced St Albans City North. Top scorer Summer Small added to her tally and Kaitlin Parkins won player of the match.
