Fullerians remain top of London Two North West despite suffering just their second league defeat of the season on Saturday, 25-15 at Woodford, picking up a bonus point for their troubles.

The visitors were immediately on the back foot and fell behind to a penalty before Woodford extended their advantage with a well-worked try.

Any momentum Fullers did build was lost to the referee’s whistle in a frustrating first half. However, they finally got on the scoresheet from a Woodford attack, wing Rory Gibson scooping up a spilt pass before running in from 70 metres. A conversion and a penalty were added before the break.

But despite having the wind behind them in the second half it was Woodford who took charge, scoring from a line-out before going 22-10 in front with 20 minutes remaining.

Fullers finally pinned their hosts in as they tried to reduce the arrears and after a number of near misses, Mike Kerr barged over.

Woodford had the final say, though, kicking a penalty to wrap up the win.

Fullerians Seconds saw their winning run ended 36-8 against Hertford.

The first 30 minutes were played in atrocious conditions and both sides initially repelled each other's attacks.

As the game went on Hertford gained control, particularly at the scrum, and Fullers couldn’t get on the front foot effectively.

Fullers will look to bounce back against Cuffley this weekend.
