FA National Sunday Cup Round Two

There was no happy landing for the Watford Sunday League’s final contender in this competition, Bushey Sports Club, who went down 2-1 at British Airways, although Mark Brimble’s goal kept the tie in doubt until the end.

Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Three

Chorleywood Club entertained Olympian League side South Oxhey Labour Reserves and ran out 6-2 winners thanks to braces from Chris May and Nick Holden with the other goals scored by James Webb and Joe Davis.

AFC Oddfellows were drawn away to Hemel Hempstead side FC Intervino but lost 1-0 while Langleybury Cricket Club entertained Stonewood First from Welwyn Garden City but went down 3-2. Dan Chitty and Greg Cook netted for the home side.

More successful were Met Police (Bushey), winning 1-0 at home to Berkhamsted’s Old Bell Athletic through Rob Gradwell’s goal.

North Watford needed extra-time against Hoddesdon side Friendly but won through 2-1 with efforts by Hamid Ali and Mansoor Ali.

Strolling into the next round are Oxhey Lions following a comfortable 3-0 victory over EH FC from Waltham Cross. Luke Beardsworth, Steve King and Carl Wigg struck for Lions.

Basement Olympian League side Watford Labour Club were demolished 11-0 by high-flying second division outfit RD FC with seven of their players hitting the target.

Leading the charge was Hugh Trayte with three, Elliot Myrants-Wilson and Jake Levy netted two apiece while Oliver Mussi, Sam Ryder, Adam de Swarte and Dan Parkes also joined in the free-scoring fun.

A goal from Dave Stewart was not enough to prevent West Herts exiting the cup after losing 4-1 at home to Garden City Galaxy.

Second division side Colne Valley opened up a 2-0 lead at half-time through Joe Murphy and Andy McKenzie-Bell and hung on to win the tie against Division One outfit West Watford after Aamer Khan struck for the home side.

Herts Sunday Junior Cup Round Three

Ardent FC breezed through with a comfortable 5-0 win at home to MSC Active from Stevenage thanks to two goals each from Charlie Savage and Lee Spence and a single strike by Marcus West.

Eric Hand WSFL Senior Challenge Cup Round Two

Division Three side Bell Rangers upset the form book with a 6-3 victory over second division Oxhey Rangers.

Bell raced into a four-goal lead at half-time but their opponents fought back in the second half before finally succumbing 6-3.

Hot-shot Harrison Harrison added to his impressive season’s tally with four goals, ably assisted by JJ Shapeiro and Marcus West. Oxhey’s goals came from Liam Coles and a Tom Walsh pair.

WSFL Junior Cup Round Two

A tie between two Division Three sides saw Tudor Vets extend their league form into the cup but they were hard-pushed by Hertsmere (Sunday), eventually winning 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Gary Wicks.

Premier Division

Reed Rangers continued their fine run to move up to third spot with a 4-3 victory away to Green Dragon as Dom David added a hat-trick to the five goals he scored against St Josephs the previous week.

Rangers’ other goal came from Nathan Gullin with Nathan Singh (2) and Martin Stevens on target for the home side.

Oxhey Estates secured a fine 6-1 win at home to Hammer and remain just one place above them in the league.

Four goals from Luke Lloyd and one each by Sammy Lloyd and Paul Wyard enabled Oxhey to secure the points with Jack Bishop on target for their struggling opponents.

Two of the basement sides fought out a 3-3 draw as Mark Lomas (2) and Tom Horton scored for home side Rifle Volunteer and Rickmansworth Rovers’ Adam Seabrook, Dean Mallet and Liam O’Connor netting for a share of the points.

St Josephs’ season appears to be unravelling after their hammering by Reed Rangers was followed by a 4-0 defeat at home to arch rivals Oakview.

Two goals each from Owen Deamer and Tim O’Mara secured the points and maintained Oakview’s perfect record.

Division One

Croxley FC entertained South Oxhey Labour Club but despite a fine goal by Craig Garrett, they could not prevent the visitors securing the points with a 3-1 victory to retain third spot.

Old Fullerians made it back-to-back 2-1 wins away to mid-table Gadeside Rangers to retain top spot.

Adam Hills was on target for the home side but strikes by Joe Rylett and Charlie Munroe secured the points for Fullers.

Division Two

Rifle Volunteer Reserves climbed up the table thanks to a 3-1 victory at home to bottom side Croxley FC.

Rifle’s Nick Kerley found the net for consecutive weeks with their other goals coming from Myles Hall and Ben Campbell. Jason Quilley scored for Croxley.

Division Three

Cassiobury Revolution recorded their first league win of the season after a close-fought match against fellow strugglers Woodlands United, taking three points with a Callum Hearn goal.

Evergreen improved their goal difference by smashing eight for no reply past Green Dragon Reserves.

Phillip Waldock led the way with a hat-trick, Aleks Jokiel and Anthony Bevenga pitched in with a pair each and Kyle Rimmer completed the rout.

Division Four

Two sides struggling to find the net unsurprisingly played out a goalless draw as Chess United entertained AC Little Silhouette of Milan, leaving them both anchored near the bottom of the table.

Woodlands Laurels took advantage of Garston Rangers’ poor form to move clear of the bottom sides with a 2-0 victory thanks to strikes by Lee Woodward and Genti Noxha.
