Fullerians battled to a 15-8 home win over Hampstead to stay top of London Two North West.

The sides exchanged penalties early on in a tight first half. But Fullers played the conditions better and a scrum resulted in forward Simon Lye scoring the first try of the match.

Fullers extended their lead when second row Liam Boyd crashed over from close range to score after some good work by the forward pack picking and driving from the ruck.

Hampstead replied with a well-deserved try from a very good lineout catching and driving to score. But the hosts held out to secure a significant league win.

Head coach Rich Hoskins said: “It was good performance at times in terrible conditions. There was another 14 points out there which we should have converted but we will take the win."

Fullers seconds earned an impressive 27-12 win over Cuffley to remain top of Merit Table Two.

Tries came from Kristian Williams, Malcom Harrison, Robbie Allen, Matt Bunce and Chris Heley.

Watford secured a bonus-point 22-6 victory over previously unbeaten Hendon on Saturday.

The hosts opened the scoring when Martin Lee crossed the line in the corner.

Hendon replied with a penalty but Watford responded and Luke Hammill added another try after a solo run.

The visitors converted another penalty but Watford bossed the second half and Richard Yates was rewarded with a try before a late fourth score from James Braun.
