Fullerians coach Rich Hoskins praised his side for their best second-half performance of the season after beating Harpenden 29-12 on Saturday to stay a point off the London 2 North West summit.

It was a slow start from Fullers who went in behind at the break only to score 21 points after the break to remain within touching distance of Old Haberdashers.

“We started slowly and credit to Harpenden who threw everything at us in the first half," said Hoskins. "But as the game progressed we got into our stride.

"It was our best second-half performance thus far with all 18 of the squad contributing to the game.”

Harpenden chipped over Fullers' defence to run in the opening try before Matt Deane scored in the corner to level.

Dan Evans then kicked a penalty to put the hosts in front but Harpenden led at the half courtesy of a second try.

That all changed after the break, though, as Fullerians finally stamped their authority on the contest with Harpenden running out of steam.

The visitors weren't helped by the loss of their captain to the sin bin for going over the top at the scrum to prevent an almost certain Fullers try.

Two Simon Lye tries gave Fullers daylight and the bonus point was secured when flanker Ben Radler was on hand to race in from 20 metres unopposed.

Fullerians make the trip to H.A.C on Saturday.
