President’s Cup Group B

Oxhey Hall Stars booked a place in the semi-finals after a 4-3 win over Prince George yesterday.

The folding of Phoenix United has hit Prince George the most and with the group reduced to just three sides, they are unable to qualify for the last four.

Oxhey Hall had to do it the hard way, coming back from 2-0 down at the break thanks to a goal from Robert Heeney and a Luke Everitt penalty.

A tactical change at half-time from Oxhey Hall changed the game. Paul Kenwright moved up front and he scored twice before Matt Byrne netted a spot-kick to put his side ahead.

But the game swung once more with Prince George drawing level through Matthew Carpenter, before Everitt saw his second penalty of the game saved by Jack Macdonald.

The final twist came in the last minute when Oxhey won the game as Kieron Nelhams scored following a run and cross from Dan Frury.

Bovingdon regained the lead in the second half thanks to a penalty from Chris Truman, but Bedmond came back to take the win through goals from James Harvey and Jamie Clark.
