Fullerians are top of London Two North West after a 26-16 win at Honourable Artillery Company on Saturday.

The visitors started brightly and scored early on through scrum-half Max Rawlinson.

But two penalties from HAC kept the home team in touch.

Fullerians wing Tom Williams was on hand to score an excellent try in the corner which made it 12-6 at the break.

The second half saw the wheels come off for Fullers as HAC took complete control.

The scrum went backwards for the first time this season and replacement flanker Rich McCabe was sent to the sinbin for taking a player without the ball.

HAC duly capitalised on their numerical advantage and their number eight crashed over for the converted try.

With less than ten minutes remaining and 16-12 down Fullers were looking down the barrel of defeat.

But the visitors responded strongly and forward George Harvey crossed the line for a converted try.

Not satisfied with just a win Fullers were awarded a penalty and went for a bonus fourth try.

From the lineout Fullers caught and drove up field showing great control only for scrum-half Max Rawlinson to go over for his second and Fullers’ fourth try of the match.

Fullerians entertain Old Merchant Taylors’ tomorrow in the league.

Meanwhile Fullers enjoyed a family affair against Chesham on Saturday when a quartet of father and sons played in the same team.

The opportunity to achieve this rare scenario was due to Ross Lovick who had just turned 17.

This meant within the RFU rules the teenager was eligible to play senior rugby. He was the youngest and Steve Simmonds the oldest at the age of 56.
The family surnames from the Fullers team were Lovick, Simmonds, Funnel and Caplan.

Fullerians also won the game and the majority of the family members celebrated playing in the same team by enjoying a post match beer.
