Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Four

Having battled to reach the latter stages of the county cup, Oxhey Lions lost out by the odd goal, going down 3-2 at home to Bradmore Rangers.

Lions’ goals came from Liam Hanley and Wayne Gladdy.

Eric Hand WSFL Challenge Cup Round Three

In a tie between two of the basement sides from Division One, AFC Oddfellows found visitors Met Police (Bushey) too strong and were beaten 4-1.

Richard Taylor, Jamie Pickering, Stephen Smyley and Rob Gradwell got the Met’s goals while Gary Hennicke grabbed the home side’s consolation.

Met Police now face a visit to The Swan in the quarter final.

Eric Hand WSFL Challenge Cup Quarter-Final

A fine hat-trick from Adam Wallace and strikes from Jermaine Davey and Luke Ferdinand eased Vision United into the semi-final with a 5-1 home win over first division Gadeside Rangers.

WSFL Intermediate Cup Quarter-Final

Promotion-chasing Division Two side Langleybury Cricket Club overcame Division One’s South Oxhey Labour Club in a 4-2 win at home.

Greg Cook scored twice and strikes by Gary Cook and Colin Wilson sealed the win. Will Wilson and Andy Avis found the net for the visitors, but could not prevent Langleybury progressing to a semi-final home tie against either RD FC or Old Fullerians.

Division One

North Watford moved off the bottom of the table following their 4-2 win at home to Croxley FC despite trailing 2-1 at half-time after Carl Pettit had scored twice.

Goals from Mansoor Ali, Jawaad Ahmed and a brace from Tommy Twelves gave Watford only their second win of the season.

Division Two

Sharing the points in a 3-3 draw gave neither Cassiobury Rangers nor their fellow strugglers Rickmansworth Athletic any joy and left both firmly rooted in the bottom half of the table.

Rangers’ Joe Mortimer, Mark Ferguson and Matthew Ladmore were on target for the home side with Connor Haynes, Connor Bantin and Ungureanu Alexandru replying for the visitors.

With games in hand West Herts are closing in on the top spot and remain unbeaten following their 11-3 demolition of Oxhey Rangers.

West Herts’ Chris Colman and Dave Stewart both scored hat-tricks while Jeremy Audic got two and Tom Smith and Allal Hammouda both added one apiece. Anthony Gilbert also got in on the act with a goal as the home side’s Ryan Walsh struck twice before Liam Coles grabbed their third.

Colne Valley returned to winning ways and recovered top spot with a 5-0 away win against Rifle Volunteer Reserves.

Leading by a solitary goal from Tom Seamons at half-time, Valley extended their advantage after the break with another effort from Seamons plus a brace by Dave Rooney and a strike by Max Harris.

Division Three

In the only match in this division, The Swan missed a golden opportunity to move up the table by sharing the points in a goalless draw against lowly Woodlands United.

Division Four

Ardent FC had to thank Charlie Salvage for the three points after he scored against visitors AC Little Silhouette of Milan.

Fox and Hounds’ goalscoring machine rolled on when they defeated Chess United 17-0, although on this occasion top striker Bradley Thompson was restricted to only one goal as teammates Ciaran Walsh (6), Rob Partington (4), Jude Bell (3), Joe Friend, Tom Carson and Callum Murchan showed him the way.

Garston Rangers remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a 6-0 home defeat by Woodlands Laurels.

Losing 4-0 at half-time following goals by Besi Brem (2), Genti Noxha and Lee Woodward, Rangers were pleased to restrict Laurels in the second half, although goals from Peter Challis and Simon Makin added to the visitors’ lead.
