Chairman’s Cup Group A

Meriden booked their place in the semi-finals of the Chairman’s Cup after they demolished Batchworth 14-0 on Sunday.

The size of Meriden's victory takes their scoring tally to an impressive 87 goals in 17 games in all competitions this season, with 33 of those coming in just their last four league and cup matches.

Jay Jarvis scored four times, while Tom Dettmer took his total for the season so far to an impressive 25 with another hat-trick, the fifth time this season he has scored three goals or more in a single fixture.

Aaron Crawford only scored a single goal but it was enough to take his own goals tally to 19 and he was supported by further sole strikes from Ben Dunton, Junior Bullen, Dean Ward, Steve Dettmer, Jamie Lee-Leslie and Stuart Shepherd.

Premier Division

Oxhey Hall Stars claimed only their second league triumph of the season with a 6-1 home win over AFC Bovingdon.

Paul Kenwright and Matt Byrne both scored doubles, with the other goals coming from Mark Insley and Kieron Nelhams. Michael Buttleman netted the sole Bovingdon reply.

Prince George moved up to third place in the table after a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Hertfordshire Lions, who are still looking for a first league win of the season.

The first half remained goalless thanks to Lions keeper John Battams saving Luke Everett’s spot-kick.

In the second period Prince George took a two-goal lead through efforts from Tom Minton and Bradley Henwood. George Benedetti then pulled one back and despite heavy pressure they couldn’t force a first league point of the campaign, with Dennis Fraser seeing his effort cleared off the line with the final kick of the game.

Division One

Roundbush continued their excellent season with a 4-1 away win over second-placed Dome Bar, who struggled once again with a shortage of numbers, this time fielding only ten players.

Tom Allan gave Bush an early lead before they allowed the ten man of Dome Bar to equalise through Martin Preston. But Bush were not to be denied all three points with further goals coming from Allan’s second of the game, David Flannery and Laurence Brown.

Jordan Aston-Woods’ hat-trick fired South Oxhey Labour Reserves to a 3-0 win over bottom-placed Watford Labour Club.
