There was someone special in the crowd at York Hall on Saturday night to witness Watford heavyweight Dave Abraham’s fourth professional victory against Igor Mihaljevic.
A big finish from the 6ft 5in Abraham saw Mihaljevic stopped in the second round and Lynne Easton flew all the way from Nevada, Las Vegas to witness another win.
“She’s my best mate’s auntie,” explained Abraham. “When I was training with world champion Bermane Stiverne in Vegas in 2014 they put me up.
“I had no idea she was coming to watch until after the fight. It was really special and I was able to catch up afterwards.”
Abraham made light work of stopping Croatian Mihaljevic but acknowledged his opponent’s quality.
“He was tough. I had all my family and friends in the room but I could see in his eyes he just wanted to take my head off,” said Abraham.
“I landed the better and cleaner shot and I feel I deserved to win.”
