Belstone will need a strong run and may need favours from elsewhere if they are to retain their Premier Division title but they did what was required on Saturday by beating Hatfield Social 4-2.

Danny Johnson, Ross O’Flynn, Darren Turner and Drew Tyler were all on target for the home side, who are fifth in the table after yesterday’s trip to Bushey Sports Club was postponed.

The Radlett side are 14 points behind leaders Letchworth Garden City Eagles but have six games in hand. However, second-placed Standon and Puckeridge are only four points off top spot with seven fixtures to make up.

Bushey had been beaten 4-0 at home by London Lions on Saturday.

Monday’s fixtures between Bovingdon and Evergreen and Chipperfield Corinthians’ home clash with Sarratt were also postponed.

Chipperfield had been the only one of the quartet to add to their points tally two days previously with a 2-1 win at Sandridge Rovers thanks to strikes from Adrian Abramian and Joshua Underwood.

The other three all suffered home defeats; Evergreen 1-0 against Cuffley, Bovingdon lost 2-0 to Standon while a Shaun Banham goal couldn’t save Sarratt from a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Buntingford Town.

Evergreen had previously secured a 2-2 draw at Hadley Wood and Wingate on Thursday through goals from James Hocking and Matthew Morris.

Bottom side Old Parmiterians took their points total into double figures following a 2-2 draw at Ware Sports on Saturday.

Bedmond Sports and Social’s Division One record now reads played 14, won 14 after they were awarded the points against Hertford Town Under-21 on Monday.

Mathew Hodges, Aaron Lewis and Garry Sippetts secured league victory number 13 following a 3-2 success against Ickleford on Saturday.

Croxley Green were the second tier’s biggest winners at the weekend as they thrashed Lemsford 8-1.

Daniel Page led the rout with four goals, Tom Gibson also scored a hat-trick and Matthew Evans completed his side’s tally.
