Garston Ladies reached the final of the League Cup with a 4-2 victory over a Hertford team who have only lost one league game this season.

They will now face Sherrardswood hoping for a repeat of last year’s final when Garston carried away the silverware courtesy of a single Vikki Duffy goal.

The semi-final see-sawed both ways with Garston twice coming from behind.

They trailed 1-0 after Kerry Oldham breached their defence only for Duffy to equalise from a free-kick. But Garston were behind again when Laveena Betts calmly slotted past Jade Cook to restore the lead.

Jo Sharp levelled before the break and then added two more for her hat-trick to send Garston into the final.

Garston Ladies 96 beat Kempston 8-2 despite only having ten players. Ciara Mackintosh and Lilly Clark both scored twice with Cassandra Chase, Claire Weekes, Leah Crocket and Lauren Berryman also netting.

Garston Under-15s went two better with a 10-0 victory over Bengeo Tigers with hat-tricks from Daisy Parker and Yasmin Sabri. A brace from Ore Jacobi and singles for Holly Chappell and Eugenia Costa completed the double-figure scoring.

Goalkeeper Rheia Caton scored with a massive punt which went straight from her goal into the opposing one in the Under-14 Pumas’ 5-2 win over Broomfield Academy. Joanna Verducci, Georgia McGurk, Amira Quraishy and Alara Kortach added more straightforward goals.

The Under-13 Lionesses lost 5-2 to Harvesters Blues in a dress rehearsal for the County Cup final. Sharday Constable and Nicole Zermani scored.
