Moor Park golfer Callum Shinkwin has missed out on a place at the US Open after the international qualifier at Walton Heath.

There were 13 places available for next month's major at Oakmont but Shinkwin finished in a tie for 49th.

The Bushey-based golfer shot an opening two-over par round of 74 which left him with plenty to do.

He could only manage the same score in the second and final round as he missed out on a spot in the US Open.

Shinkwin will turn his attention to the European Tour on Thursday when he tees off at the Nordea Masters in Sweden.
