Matt Wallace’s superb run of form has continued after he fired a four-under-par bogey-free 68 in his first ever round on the European Tour - and Moor Park club-mate Callum Shinkwin is also firmly in the early mix at the Nordea Masters one shot back.
Wallace, who was invited to compete at the Stockholm event following his history-making four consecutive victories on the Alps Tour, sits in a tie for seventh place in Stockholm, one shot behind the six joint first round leaders including North Middlesex Golf Club’s Andrew Johnston.
Teeing off from the tenth, the 26-year-old picked up his first birdie on the par five 12th and went out in a three-under 33 after back-to-back birdies on the par three 17th and par four 18.
The Pinner-based professional then played par golf on the front nine but finished his opening round in the best way possible with a fourth birdie on the par five ninth.

On a fine day for Moor Park, Shinkwin is in the group on three-under-par after carding an opening round 69.
The Bushey professional, who is seeking to build on back-to-back top-20 finishes on the European Tour, also started on the tenth and made a superb start with a birdie on his par four first hole and an eagle on the par five 12th to move to three-under after three holes.
However, that was followed by bogeys on two more par fives - 13 and 15 - before he recovered one of those shots on 17 to reach the turn in two-under.
The 23-year-old moved back to three-under with a birdie on the par four third, immediately dropped a shot on par three fourth, but moved into what would prove to be a share of 16th place with his fourth birdie of his first round on the par four eighth.
